On Friday, 9th of July 2021, The Dynamic GASAM Executive along with Mr Habib Jagne ,the outgoing President paid a courtesy call to The Gambian Embassy in Morocco to officially present their Plan of Actions to the embassy officials.
This meeting was chaired by Mr Abdoulie Bah, the deputy head of mission at the Embassy.
After greeting and acknowledging all attendees, Mr Bah briefly introduced the Embassy staff as well as the two diplomatic guests, Mr Malick Sillah and Mr Chatty who were present during the meeting.
After his welcoming remarks , Mr Habib Jagne elucidated the objective of the meeting by saying that the meeting was a tradition aimed at facilitating the transition of accountability from the outgoing executive to the incoming executive. Afterwards, he introduced his successor, Mr Malick Jobe to the officials present.
Mr Malick jobe, after his opening greetings went on to introduce his executive.
Afterwards, he gave an overview of the Plan of Action that his team will be engaging in and highlighted the main annual activities, the existing projects, the recommendations suggested to develop them as well as emphasizing on the following startling actions that were collectively brought forward by his team;
•Facilitation Plans of the Stipend
•Career Appraisal Program
•First Aid Training Program
•GASAM and Alumni Charity Foundation
•Acquisition of Sports Materials
•Acquisition of Social & Cultural Accessories
•Accessibility of Military Courses
This presentation was followed by a discussion in which the attendees were invited to comment on the proposed plan of actions, done by Mr Malick Jobe in anticipation of the meeting.
Overall, the attendees welcomed the actions. However, Mr Malick Sillah expressed concern about the gender variation portrayed in the executive. He urged the association to engage more females in the decision making category.
Her excellency Madam Ambassador Saffie Lowe Ceesay appreciated the visit with complete sincerity. She acknowledged the works done by the departing executive and wished a successful tenure of the Dynamic Executive.
She commended the projects presented by the new Executive and assured that she will engage the relevant authorities.
With regards to the participation of females in the executive positions, she said that people should do away with the idea that someone should be given a position simply because of their gender. She added that both women and men are capable and everyone should work on making themselves worthy of a responsibility because that's all what matters.
The Ambassador concluded by reiterating her appreciation for the commitment of the association. She reassured their continued supports and affirmed that the Embassy’s doors are always opened for GASAM.
Closing the meeting, Mr Bah thanked the Ambassador, her staff and the guests present. Also, he sent words of appreciation to the Dynamic Executive for their well presented plan of actions and wished them a successful tenure.
