Arabic Classes 2015/2016
GASAM, in collaboration with the Association Joussour El Kheir, a Moroccan Non-profit, organised Arabic classes during the summer in August and and during the year from October to May for its members to learn the basics of the Arabic Language in order to better communicate in Arabic-speaking country for personal and professional purposes. This program was also partly sponsored by Heeno International, a Gambian NGO led by Dr. Karamo N.M Sonko.
GASAM Week 2015 (First Edition)
GASAM Week was conceptualised and realised for the first time in 2015 with the objective of bringing together all Gambian students spread throughout the Kingdom of Morocco to participate in a week of education and socialisation, bringing members closer to each other on this distant land in the spirit of strengthening our fraternal bonds of unity. And so four days of adventure were scheduled to learn, bond and recover from a year of physical, emotional and psychological strain in the classroom. On the first day, new students received an orientation from senior students in order to help to choose courses and careers. On Day Two (Sports), new students tested their senior counterparts in a football match, whilst the ladies were engaged in mini foot game. Days Three and Four were reserved for trips to the zoo and to the beach for a picnic.
Anglophone Week 2015
The Union of Anglophone Students and Trainees in Morocco (UASTIM) also known as Anglophone Union, organised its ...edition of its annual Anglophone Week, bringing together all students from Anglophone countries to participate in a week of sports and social and cultural activities. GASAM, participated as The Gambia in the football and volleyball tournaments, as well as the Miss and Mister Competition, bringing in gold (first place) for football for the first time in our history in the tournament!
Lusophone Tournament 2015
GASAM was invited as The Gambia to participate as a special guest in the football tournament organised by the Lusophone Association of Students. Ahead of all the lusophone countries that participated in the tournament, The Gambia was able to come out on top win the tournament.
Maths Classes 2015
GASAM organised its annual Maths Classes sponsored by Heeno International, a Gambian NGO, under the leadership of Dr. Karamo M.N Sonko. Held during the summer, new students fresh from their French Year underwent an intensive program to prepare them for their courses in Moroccan universities.
Tobaski 2015 (Eid El Adha)
GASAM, more than an association, is a family. On foreign shores and far away from Mother Gambia and our respective families, GASAM steps in each year to bring together students to celebrate Tobaski or Eid Al-Adha as a family. United We Stand.
French Classes 2016
In order to complement the efforts of the AMCI Language Centre, GASAM organised supplementary French classes for the new students, enabling them to accelerate their learning of the French Language in preparation for their studies in Moroccan Universities where the language of instruction is French.
Fundraising 2016
Seeking to diversify its source of revenue as well as promote its culture and entrepreneurial values, GASAM organised its first ever fundraising event, held at the Cité Universitaire Internationale. GASAM offered Gambian meat pies and pancakes to the international student community.
Voluntary Work: English Classes for Association Joussour El Kheir
Within the framework of a language exchange program, GASAM offered free English classes to students under the care of the Association Joussour El Kheir, a non-profit organisation that offers educational and socio-economic aid to orphans and disadvantaged children.
CESAM 2016
​The Confederation for African Students and Trainees in Morocco organised its ...edition of its annual CESAM Week, bringing together all African students in Morocco to participate in a week of sports and social and cultural activities. Gasamians participated in a number of activities, in particular the football and volleyball tournaments, as well as the Miss and Mister Competition.
Koriteh 2016 (Eid El Fitr)
